In December 2010, a tragic incident in Slinger, Wisconsin, claimed the life of 16-year-old high school football player. While bench pressing 185 pounds alone at home, the barbell slipped, fatally trapping him.
When we heard this heartbreaking story, we knew something had to change. We made it our mission to design a squat rack that is not only safer but also perfectly suited for solo home workouts.
After extensive research into the needs of solo lifters, we focused on three key areas: barbell drop protection, tripping prevention, and structural stability.
This squat rack was born as a result and quickly became one of our best-selling products. It’s more than just a squat rack—it’s your trusted companion for solo workouts.
One of the most common causes of weightlifting accidents is barbell failure during a bench press, leading to the bar dropping unexpectedly.
Many low-cost squat racks feature only two basic uprights with no protective features, leaving users vulnerable to injury.
To address this, we equipped our squat rack with a 13.5-inch-long, height-adjustable spotter arm.
The length provides ample protection during failed bench presses or squats, ensuring the barbell doesn't fall onto the user.
With an adjustable height range of 35.4" to 55.5", the rack accommodates lifters of all sizes and supports a wide variety of exercises.
Safety meets versatility in every workout.
Another frequent cause of gym accidents is the instability of standalone squat racks.
The risk of an upright tipping over or shifting during use is higher than you might imagine. This instability, coupled with the inability to safely rack a barbell after a lift, can result in serious injuries.
To solve this, we added a width-adjustable connector ranging from 26" to 46" that secures both uprights into a unified structure.
This innovative design significantly enhances the squat rack’s stability without compromising practicality.
With this feature, our squat rack not only performs better but also delivers unparalleled safety for home gym users.
Integrated squat racks are common in the market, but too often, they are designed with little thought for functionality or safety—simply connecting two uprights without considering the lifter's experience.
These designs are often created by engineers with no passion for fitness, resulting in racks with significant flaws. One glaring example is placing the connector below the weight plates, which obstructs the lifter’s legs.
This not only makes it difficult to unrack the barbell in a stable position but also poses a tripping hazard when stepping back to re-rack the barbell.
As passionate fitness enthusiasts, we redesigned this component, relocating the connector to the back. This adjustment ensures users can lift, rack, and move without obstructions, enhancing both safety and comfort.
We didn’t just set out to create a rack that “works.” Our goal was to craft the ultimate squat rack experience—one that inspires confidence, encourages safer lifting, and helps more people embrace fitness as a lifelong journey.
